Hilary Solet Thompson

Hilary Solet Thompson is an associate attorney with experience in all family law matters, including divorce, custody, domestic violence, protective orders, support and property.   A native of Houma, Louisiana and a member of the United Houma Nation Tribe, Hilary graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Monroe before earning her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi.

While in college, Hilary worked as a law clerk for the Ouachita Parish District Attorney’s Office in their misdemeanor domestic violence unit. During law school, she clerked at Orleans Parish Criminal Court under Judge Robin Pittman and later for Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. Additionally, she worked at the Disability Law Center, where she continued to practice as an attorney. 

Hilary’s life centers around her family, faith, music, and community. She and her husband, Travis, are the parents of two children, Amelia (7) and August (2).

 Music and singing have long been an important part of Hilary’s life. She particularly enjoys the opportunity to share what she knows with others and teaches children’s choir at Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Slidell. Teaching choir allows her to combine her love of music and singing with something else she values deeply: passing along knowledge and skills that have brought joy to her own life.

Hilary enjoys participating in civic and community initiatives and volunteering her time wherever she believes she can make a meaningful contribution.
